I had so much fun reading this book! It was definitely an interesting take on royalty, and I loved every minute of it!

American Royals is a lively new take on a royal/dystopian novel centered around the United States of America. It’s told as if George Washington had chosen to be king instead of president, and follows his royal descendants (the American royal family) and their struggles.

I had never read anything like this before and I was actually super apprehensive to read it. Still, I’m so glad that I did! The love triangles are crazy, and the characters are to die for! 

This book takes a  normal teenager’s feelings and puts them into the spotlight of the whole country. I loved that we got to see relatable characters in a tweaked world, rather than action-packed unrelatable characters in an unrelatable world.

It was a breath of fresh air! The characters were finally actually relatable and it had a great storyline. Although the plot was a bit slow at times, you never knew what was going to happen next and that kept me reading. 

Overall this was a great read, and you should definitely read it too! I can’t wait for the next book!
