At this point of the month, I was ready for an easygoing book that would be quick and uncomplicated.
This book gave me everything that I wanted! It was a nice summery book with a splash of romance. Anise’s competitive nature was extremely amusing, and that kept me quite entertained. I was totally jealous that she lived in Santa Cruz right next to the water, where she could spend all day surfing.
What I loved the most about this book was just the simplicity as well as the characters. This wasn’t a super deep or intense book, and I knew that whenever I picked it up I didn’t need to put a ton of focus into it.
I also appreciated the rambunctious twins. They were so lively and full of energy! Every time they entered the book you would know that everything would be okay!
This read was so refreshing and relaxing, and the only problem I really had was how slow it was. Things were very stagnant for quite a while during the story, and there were multiple times when I wish it would speed up.
All the same, it was such a joy reading this book, and I’m excited to read more by Laura Silverman in the future.
