I decided to combine these two books because they were just so similar!
The Heir and The Crown are no longer about America but instead about her daughter, Eadyln. She goes through her very own selection, except this time, she is the one doing the selecting. I was fairly nervous before starting these books, and I was so scared the series would get ruined. Thank goodness I was wrong!
Usually, spin-offs are hard to read/get through. Although I didn’t love it as much as I did the first three books, it was pretty easy to read and I never thought about DNFing it. It definitely didn’t ruin the first three books. (Thank goodness!!!)
I think what made me lower my star rating the most was the main character, Eadyln.
She was extremely selfish and didn’t care one bit about other people’s feelings. Instead, she was always complaining about how hard her life was!
Still, the storyline was pretty interesting and I really loved seeing all the characters from the other side of the selection. I definitely never got bored, so that was a great plus! There are also some funny/memorable moments in both books that helped keep my interest going.
Overall the last part of this series definitely passed my expectations. Even if it wasn’t as amazing as the beginning it was still pretty good and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to read more of The Selection.
